Spinal Manipulation & Adjustment

The Purpose of Chiropractic Spinal Adjustment

The human spine consists of a complex arrangement of vertebrae, discs, joints, and the muscle groups that allow the spine to twist, turn, and bend. It also hosts the spinal cord, with major nerves running through the vertebral spaces to serve the rest of the body.

Unfortunately, many problems can afflict this delicate combination of moving and non-moving parts. Even the smallest  joint imbalance, can limit joint motion, causing neck or back pain. Dislodged or herniated discs can press against nerve roots, producing neurological discomfort or weakness in the extremities while also affecting your systemic health. An unbalanced spine may throw the rest of your body out of balance, leaving you with chronic aches and pains.

Dr. William Molesky uses Flexion Distraction Technique,  light and gentle non-force adjusting approach. This highly-effective technique combines osteopathic principles with the specific, highly-directed approach used in chiropractic. The combination offers a conservative resolution of low back and leg pain that often averts the need for surgery.

How Does Flexion-Distraction Work?

The Flexion-Distraction technique we use gives us the ability to traction the spine, opening up compressed spinal discs and reducing pressure on facet joints of the spine, without pain or aggravating your condition.

By lying on the table, neutralizing the effects of gravity, we’re able to gently separate spinal joints and move them through a more normal range of motion. Patients find this surprisingly pleasant. We find it powerfully effective.

By normalizing your spinal alignment, we can ease neurological symptoms, reduce muscular strain, and help your neck and back move more freely.

If you're ready to boost your health, flexibility, balance, and everyday comfort, our chiropractic team is ready to help you achieve those goals.
